Heavy Duty Towing in Surrey and the Lower Mainland

A commercial vehicle off the road is not just a breakdown, it is a stopped job, a late delivery and often a lane closed behind it. Heavy duty recovery is a different discipline from moving a family car: the weights, the attachment points and the traffic management all change.

What we move

What the dispatcher needs to know

For heavy work the details matter more than usual. Have ready: the type of vehicle, its approximate weight, whether it is loaded and with what, what has failed, where exactly it is stopped, and whether it is blocking a lane. Air brakes that have locked on, a dropped driveshaft or a seized axle each change how the vehicle can be moved.

Blocking traffic

If the vehicle is stopped in a live lane, say so immediately when you call. That changes the urgency and the equipment sent. Put hazard lights on, set out triangles if you carry them, and wait somewhere safe away from the carriageway.

Lighter vehicles

If what you are driving is a car, van or pickup rather than a commercial vehicle, standard towing covers it — see our full range of services.

Frequently asked questions

What size of vehicle counts as heavy duty?

As a rule of thumb, anything beyond a large van or pickup: commercial trucks, buses, motorhomes and equipment. If you are not sure, describe the vehicle on the call and the dispatcher will tell you which unit is needed.

Can you tow a loaded truck, or does it need unloading first?

That depends on the load and the weight. Tell the dispatcher what is on board when you call, because it affects both the equipment sent and the price.

My truck has locked air brakes. Can it still be moved?

Usually yes, but it has to be handled correctly. Mention it on the call so the right equipment comes with the unit.

Do you handle recovery as well as towing for heavy vehicles?

Describe the situation when you call, including how the vehicle came to rest and the ground conditions, and you will be told what can be done before anything is dispatched.

How is heavy duty towing priced?

It depends on the vehicle, the weight, the distance and what is involved in getting it moving. You are given the price on the phone before anyone is dispatched.
